October saw a new dawn in school netball experiences when Walt Disney World, Florida ran the first ever netball event for students in 2014 at the stunning ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. This event ran exclusively in partnership with Visions in Education.

October 2016 – the five-day Disney International Netball event, attracted youth teams from around the world, including Australia, South Africa, the Caribbean, USA, Canada and the UK.  As such, it provided an unmatched and unique setting, as the first opportunity for students to join in coaching sessions, tournament play, and Disney off court fun with netball teams from around the globe.  Coaches, teachers, spectators and students were amazed at the experience and the incredible value.

Vicki Wilson Stacey FrancisVisions In Education along with Netball America were excited to have iconic Australian Sports Hall of Fame, most capped former Australian Netball Captain Vicki Wilson as Head Coach for the 2016 Disney International Youth Netball Tournament.  Vicki lead an impressive team of carefully selected coaches from around the world, who spent time getting to know each of the girls and making wonderful connections.

Vicki Wilsom, OAM was also joined by current England Netball superstar, Stacey Francis as they delivered a special ‘coach the coaches’ session.  This session was rated as the highlight for many of the coaches attending.
The event had available chigwell-gemsthe two main halls of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the Jostens Center and the HP Field House. These facilities are linked for easy access and provided a stunning setting for the girls. All courts were marked for game play and enjoyed big screen TV playbacks of the day’s events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The spacious, state-of-the-art sports halls were air conditioned, provided locker rooms for team use, offered spring flooring, spectator seating, warm up areas and restroom facilities. There were a variety of food/beverage and merchandising outlets both in the Jostens Center and within the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

As the only official Disney Netball event on the planet, we were able to offer the unique opportunity for all our netballers to mix, work, and play with teams from around the globe. The Walt Disney World complex, ESPN, and Visions In Education team, provided the girls with the netball experience of a lifetime at this event.
