Skiing and snowboarding in Bulgaria offer great value for money with cheap après-ski and excellent skiing. It is a wonderful opportunity for beginners to learn to ski or board with friendly and patient English speaking instructors, and also offers challenging runs for the more experienced.

Set amidst the majestic forest-clad Rila Mountains, once a hunting ground for Bulgarian Kings, Borovets was Bulgaria’s first ski resort, dating from the 19th century when it was only known to an exclusive few.

Now Visions groups have the opportunity to experience this fun-packed, snow filled spectacular destination, Borovets truly has got the lot and is firmly established as one of Bulgaria most popular ski resorts. At a height of 1,300 metres Borovets is lively and justly popular with all ability of skiers/riders, in a setting that’s near perfect right at the foot of Mount Moussala (2925 metres), the highest peak in the Balkan region.

Borovets has a long ski season opening in December and closing in April.  Four runs are open during the evenings for night skiing available from 5pm – 10pm each evening.  There is a wonderful alpine feel to the resort with bowling, tobogganing and a variety of shops, stalls and kiosks in the village centre.
